COLD FIRE Extinguishers the NEWFIREFIGHTING AGENT that has an extraordinary ability to remove extreme heat from any object with which it comes in contact.

Cold Fire Extinguishers

are a definitely the hot new As Seen On TV product of the year but I’ve noticed a little trend here. The series Pitchmen premiered with Anthony Sullivan lighting himself on fire to prove the value of his latest and greatest product, cold fire extinguishers. But, this isn’t the first time things get heated for Sullivan.

A few months back I recall Anthony Sullivan pitching a pretty neat product called the Grill Glove which is a fire proof glove used while you are grilling. It allows you to reach onto the grill and remove, turn or flip food without getting burned or needing tongs. It really is a cleaver idea and we will hear more about it during grilling seasons. The thing that surprised me was Sullivan’s willingness to reach in to the fire to test it out. I didn’t expect that from him and was rather impressed.

So Sullivan stepped it up a notch on Pitchmen when the inventor presented a non toxic, biodegradable flame retardant in a can. Sounds like a fire extinguisher right? Well it wasn’t but it made Sullivan nervous. The inventor wanted to demonstrate by applying the Cold Fire liquid to his arm and putting a blow torch to it. Sully was taken back and hesitant enough to call for a traditional fire extinguisher to be on call. The stunt was pulled off without a hitch and Sullivan was inspired to give it a whirl. I knew immediately Cold Fire Extinguishers were gonna be a hit!

For the infomercial Anthony Sullivan donned a fire suit and set himself ablaze to show the world the power of Cold Fire. It was a great stunt and satisfied Rule 1 of direct response marketing, the Wow Factor. Just take a look at the Cold Fire Extinguishers televised ad…

Cold Fire Extinguishers

Overall, the season Premiere of Pitchmen was great and they really didn’t miss a beat without Billy Mays. I think it is safe to say that we are in for a whole slew of As Seen On TV products this year, but a few like Cold Fire Extinguishers are life savers.

Developed from the extraorindary life saving and fire fighting Cold Fire, Fire Suppressing Agent, the FIRE BLOCK Fire Retardant is a revolutionary product which retards fires by stopping dangerous flames from spreading.
This unique product offers extraordinary fire retarding capability of any Class A surface with no flame spread and also inhibits hydrocarbon smoke development.
FIRE BLOCK works to actually form a thermal insulation barrier to prevent flames from spreading. This unique thermal insulation barrier factor is attributed to the unique cooling characteristic of the product.Application: Spray on or soak any Class A type surface (i.e. wood, cotton, paper, furnishings, etc.). Allow product to completely penetrate surface/material and let dry completely.

ASTM-E84 tested.
Available in 5 and 55 gallon drums.
Also available in 32 oz. pump bottles.

Is Cold Fire UL Listed

Yes. Cold Fire is listed as a Class A & B & D Wetting Agent. Listing #2N75.
Is Cold Fire listed with the NFPA:

Cold Fire has been tested in accordance with NFPA Standard 18 for Wetting Agents.

How does Cold Fire work?

To understand how Cold Fire work, you must first understand the basic structure of fire. In order for a fire to be created, three components are necessary, fuel, oxygen, and heat. These three components form what is called a “fire triangle.” Most agents extinguish fires by breaking down one leg of the fire triangle, heat and fuel. Cold Fire is considered to have 6 times the penetrating capability of water. This characteristic, coupled with its extraordinary capability to absorb heat, allows Cold Fire to penetrate a fire faster, absorb the heat, and bring the fuel source generating the fire under its flash point more quickly. Cold Fire also works to encapsulate the fuel source and its vapors and simultaneously begins to break down the molecular structure of the hydrocarbon fuel source preventing re-ignition.

Is Cold Fire a Foam?

No. Cold Fire is a unique wetting agent that when applied breaks the chemical chain reaction of fire. Cold Fire works to encapsulate the fuel source and eliminate the heat of a fire. By encapsulating the fuel source, the vapors of the fuel can no longer be vaporized to cause re-ignition. Foam works to “blanket”/smother the fuel source and works to eliminate the oxygen of a fire. It does not encapsulate or cool the source. Cold Fire is advantageous in comparison to AFFF (Aqueous Film Forming Foam) because if the foam blanket of a AFFF is disrupted the vapor of the fuel underneath the blanket can easily re-ignite.

Other advantages to Foam

Cold Fire is non-toxic and non-corrosive. Foam is a toxic and corrosive. Cold Fire can be dumped directly into booster tanks or inducted without fear of clogging lines corrosion of hoses and tanks. When using foam lines need to be flushed out. Foam is also not a good agent for fighting vertical fires because it has minimal if no penetration value to penetrate and extinguish a fire faster. Cold Fire has 6 to 10 times the penetration capacity of water, extinguishing and cooling a surface 6 to 10 times faster than water. Cold Fire is also non-slip and does not leave a reside.

AFFF is a Class B foam. There are also many Class A foams on the market. Many fire departments purchase both Class A and B foams. Cold Fire allows fire departments to purchase only one product. Cold Fire extinguishes both Class A and B fires. By purchasing Cold Fire, Fire Departments will save money and time as they will no longer need to : purchase two products and flush out lines or tanks due to fear of clogging and corrosion.

On what classes of fire can Cold Fire be used?

Class A; Wood, tires, brush, forest, structures, textiles, etc.
Class B: Vehicles, oil, gasoline, diesel, alcohol
Class D: Metals, such as magnesium, aluminum, & Titanium.

What percentage of Cold Fire is used to extinguish the above classes of fire?:

Class A: use 1-3% of Cold Fire (ex. 500 gallons at 3%=15 gallons of Cold Fire.

Class B: use 3-6% of Cold Fire (ex. 500 gallons at 6%=30 gallons of Cold Fire.

Class D: use 6-10% of Cold Fire (ex. 500 gallons at 10%=50 gallons of Cold Fire.

What are the advantages of using Cold Fire in place of other agents?

Cold Fire is environmentally friendly, 100% biodegradable, non-toxic and non-corrosive.

Cold Fire reduces the density of hydrocarbon smoke, thereby increasing visibility.

Cold Fire’s unique rapid cooling capability enhances safety. Cold Fire’s rapid cooling effect reduces the chances of flashover.

The shelf life of Cold Fire is indefinite as long as it is stored in closed containers between 28°F and 120°F.

Cold Fire can be added directly into your booster tank. Cold Fire is non-corrosive and 100% soluble. It will not corrode your equipment or clog your hose lines.

Cold Fire is non-slip.

What is the advantage of using Cold Fire in place of water alone?

Cold Fire is significantly more efficient than water alone. It enhances the water’s ability to penetrate the source of the fire; thereby extinguishing the fire with significantly less water and reducing the amount of water damage.

Cold Fire greatly enhances the waters ability to absorb heat, allowing fire fighters to gain entry into a structure or room much faster.

Cold Fire absorbs British Thermal Units (BTU’s) three times faster than water alone, thereby extinguishing the fire three times faster.

Industry Specific How is Cold Fire sold?

Cold Fire is sold in 5 and 55 gallon drums for fire departments, commercial and industrial applications. Cold Fire is also sold in 12 oz. spray cans and 32 oz. spray bottles for trade, tool, racing applications.

Does the use of Cold Fire require specialized equipment?

No. Cold Fire can be dumped directly into your booster tank or can easily be inducted. No special equipment is required.
